Your workplace should be safe. When it’s not, we hold employers and insurers accountable.

Rosamond's workforce operates under conditions that most California workers never encounter. Civilian employees at Edwards Air Force Base work around jet engines, experimental aircraft, and heavy military equipment on the Mojave Desert floor where summer temperatures regularly exceed 110 degrees. Wind turbine technicians on the ridgelines surrounding the community climb nacelles hundreds of feet above the ground in gusting desert winds. Track workers and mechanics at Willow Springs International Raceway face high-speed vehicle hazards and chemical exposure. These are not ordinary workplace risks.
California's workers' compensation system under Labor Code sections 3200 through 6002 is a no-fault system. That means you do not need to prove your employer or anyone else was negligent. Whether your injury was caused by a co-worker's mistake, equipment failure, or the extreme environmental conditions of the high desert, you are entitled to full benefits. The only requirement is that your injury arose out of and in the course of your employment.
Attorney Eman Yazdchi represents Rosamond workers across every local industry. Because Rosamond is in Kern County, workplace injury claims are filed and heard at the Bakersfield WCAB district office — a jurisdiction we know well. Our firm handles every phase, from the initial DWC-1 filing through utilization review disputes under LC §4610 to final settlement or trial. Our Palmdale office is a quick 20-minute drive south on the 14 Freeway.
California's Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) sets and enforces workplace safety standards under Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations. When employers violate these standards and workers get hurt, the injuries are compensable under workers' comp — and the violations may also support penalties that strengthen your claim. Rosamond's dominant industries each carry specific Cal/OSHA obligations.
Civilian employees at Edwards Air Force Base face hazards including jet fuel exposure, high-decibel noise from engine testing, chemical solvents used in aircraft maintenance, and heavy equipment operation. Cal/OSHA requires employers to provide hearing protection in environments exceeding 85 decibels, respiratory protection when handling toxic substances, and proper lockout/tagout procedures for maintenance operations. Defense contractors who cut corners on these protections expose workers to injuries — and themselves to Cal/OSHA citations.
Wind turbine technicians working on the ridgelines near Rosamond face fall hazards at extreme heights, confined space dangers inside nacelles, electrical shock risks from turbine components, and repetitive strain from climbing. Cal/OSHA's fall protection standards under Title 8 §3210 require personal fall arrest systems for any work above certain heights. The extreme desert wind conditions at Rosamond's elevation add risk that generic safety plans may not address. Employers must conduct site-specific hazard assessments and provide appropriate training.
Rosamond's Mojave Desert climate creates acute heat illness risks. Cal/OSHA's Heat Illness Prevention Standard (Title 8 §3395) requires employers to provide water, shade, rest breaks, and acclimatization protocols when temperatures exceed 80 degrees Fahrenheit. At Edwards AFB and on wind farm construction sites along Rosamond Boulevard and Dawn Road, temperatures routinely exceed this threshold for months at a time. Heat stroke, heat exhaustion, and related injuries are fully compensable under workers' comp.
After your initial treatment, your employer's insurer controls ongoing medical care through a process called utilization review (UR). UR decisions must follow the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule (MTUS). When UR denies a treatment your doctor recommends — a common tactic with expensive surgeries for back and shoulder injuries — you can challenge the decision through Independent Medical Review (IMR). We handle UR and IMR disputes aggressively because delayed treatment leads to worse outcomes, especially for the high-impact injuries common in Rosamond's aerospace and wind energy industries.
